I’m a former journalist and sub-editor turned communications specialist with 15 years’ experience of writing for different audiences across print and digital channels. I’ve turned the driest report source content into copy that generates a buzz and found lead news stories from the most obscure of council meetings. My background in journalism means that I am expert in getting a handle on all topics to turn them into something understandable and targeted to the audience. I can help with:

Crisis coming? Don’t panic

I’ve worked in NHS communications so I’m very confident in a crisis. I keep a calm head whether it’s planning lines to take when a contentious issue is known to be on the horizon or reacting to an unexpected situation. My journalism experience means I know what questions are likely to be asked when the proverbial hits while my time in PR allows me to craft answers that limit reputational damage.

About me

A long time ago in a small market town a little girl, inspired by Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, set up a newspaper for her cul-de-sac. It was written on a PC that took up half of the living room and illustrated with clipart. From these humble beginnings a love and talent for writing began…

These days you can find me crafting copy and correcting errors from behind a laptop either at home or anywhere that serves decent coffee.

Whether it’s blog content, report writing, website words or speech notes you need I can help. If you can’t find the time to put fingers to keys I can take the burden from you. I can carry out interviews and do research to create the copy that you need.
